What made you decide to choose a beach wedding?
We were both not keen to hold a typical hotel wedding or an indoor wedding as we wanted an alfresco ambience. It was also important that the place was breezy as the groom perspires easily.
It should be tricky planning a Singapore wedding by the beach! What are some things our readers should look out for?
First of all, make sure your parents are okay with the idea of an outdoor wedding. Also, you should prepare a contingency plan in case the weather turns bad. Try to avoid having your wedding during the monsoon period, and schedule your wedding for the best times of the day to be outdoors, such as earlier in the morning or early in the evening, basically periods when the sun is not so harsh.
To prepare your guests, you can suggest a suitable dress code. It will be good if you can provide fans or electrical coolers at the venue too. We tried to make it more comfortable for the guests by providing mosquito repelling patches for them!
Last of all, remember to walk around the area to check the cleanliness of the venue’s surroundings. Make sure there are no funny smells coming from the sea!
